What does an architect's website include, and what does it cost?

A portfolio site with the studio, selected projects and contact starts at ₺30,000 and goes live in about 3 days once the photos are ready. A studio site with a page per project, projects added from a panel and service pages runs from ₺50,000 and takes 1 week.

A photo catches the eye. A project page convinces.

People find an architect in two ways: from an interior photo on Instagram or Pinterest to your name, or from a job typed into Google, such as 'villa architect Bodrum' or 'kitchen interior design Kadıköy'. In the first case they want the project behind the photo; in the second, whether you have done that kind of work before.

Both get the same answer: a project page with location, floor area, scope and the before state. Photos poured into a single 'gallery' page answer neither.

A project page, not a gallery.

Each project gets its own address: location, floor area, scope (design only or built), duration and a short story. Photos are shown large, but each is prepared at screen size for phones, so a heavy shoot does not cost seconds on mobile. Adding a project from the panel means uploading photos and filling in the fields.

What to ask before you commission an architect's site

  • How fast do the photos open on a phone?

    Open a portfolio site the agency has built over mobile data. If large photos were put up without resizing, the first image arrives late and visitors leave before seeing the project. Ask whether the panel resizes photos when they are uploaded.

  • Does adding a project depend on the agency?

    If every new project means writing to the agency, two years on the site still shows your old work. During the proposal, try whether the panel leaves uploading, ordering and unpublishing projects to you.

  • Who holds the rights to the photos?

    Web use of shots by a professional architectural photographer depends on their contract, and a client's home needs the client's permission too. Settle up front that you hold the rights to every image used on the site.

Asked before the proposal

I have Instagram. Do I still need a site?

Instagram is a feed; a project from three years ago sinks out of sight and does not come up in a search for 'Bodrum villa project'. A site keeps every project at a permanent address with plan and scope, and visitors from Instagram are sent there.

Do I have to name the client and the address?

No. District, floor area and scope are enough on a project page; the client's name appears only with their consent.

Should I separate renders from built projects?

Separating them builds trust: 'design' and 'built' tags show on the project card. Visitors do not confuse a drawing with finished work.
