Clients first look for a sentence they recognise themselves in.

People looking for a psychologist do not type a diagnosis; they type what they are going through: 'always anxious', 'therapy after a break-up', 'my child refuses to go to school'. When deciding, they look at two things: does this person work with my situation, and could I talk to them.

What to ask before you commission a psychologist's site

  • Do the images dramatise distress?

    Photos of people holding their head in their hands fill agency archives, and they take the reader straight back to their worst moment. A calm space, your consulting room or a simple portrait makes a better first impression. The proposal should say where the images come from.

  • Will there be client testimonials?

    A testimonial can reveal a client's identity and the fact that they are in therapy, even without a name. We do not build a testimonial section on a psychologist's site; trust comes from training, approach and articles. If an agency suggests one, ask why.

  • Who will write the articles?

    Articles on anxiety, grief or relationships are the door through which clients find you, but one wrong sentence can do harm. Make sure the panel lets you publish yourself; any text the agency drafts should pass your review before it goes live.

I offer online therapy. Will the site suit that?

Yes. How online sessions work, which platform is used and what the client needs technically are explained on a separate page. Booking works without any city limit.

Will the design be too loud?

No. Colour and type are kept calm, with little motion or bright emphasis on the page. The aim is that the reader can take the text in without hurrying.

We are a centre with several specialists. How are they shown?

Each specialist gets a profile: training, approach and areas of work. Area pages list the specialists working in that area, and the client requests an appointment with the one they choose.
